Frequently Asked Questions!
What materials are used in your furniture?
All our premium furniture pieces are crafted using solid natural wood, primarily Oakwood and Teakwood. We do not use MDF, particle board, or low-grade engineered materials for our core product range unless explicitly mentioned.
What is MDF?
MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down wood fibres into pulp, mixing them with resin and chemicals, and compressing them under high pressure into flat boards.
Key characteristics of MDF:
- Smooth and uniform surface
- No natural wood grain
- Made using wood waste and adhesives
- Low resistance to moisture and long-term load
What is veneer?
Veneer is a very thin slice of real wood that is glued onto a base material such as MDF, plywood, or particle board to give the appearance of solid wood.
Important to note:
While veneer may look like real wood on the surface, the core material underneath is not solid wood.
Why are MDF and veneer furniture cheaper?
MDF and veneer furniture are significantly cheaper due to the following reasons:
- Manufactured using wood waste and fibres
- Faster mass production with machines
- Lower raw material costs
- Minimal skilled craftsmanship required
- Shorter lifespan compared to solid wood
These materials are often chosen for budget furniture or temporary use but do not offer the durability or authenticity of solid hardwood.
What is the difference between MDF/Veneer and premium solid woods like Oakwood or Teakwood?

Why do solid wood products cost more?
Solid wood furniture costs more because it involves:
- Premium hardwood sourcing
- Skilled craftsmanship
- Longer production time
- Careful seasoning and finishing
- Higher durability and longevity
What you pay upfront translates into decades of use and timeless value.
Why should I choose Oakwood?
Oakwood is known for its strength, beautiful grain, and versatility.
Benefits of Oakwood:
- Strong and heavy-duty hardwood
- Elegant grain patterns
- Ideal for modern and contemporary interiors
- Ages beautifully over time
- Excellent structural stability
Oakwood is perfect for dining tables, beds, cabinets, and statement furniture.
Why should I choose Teakwood?
Teakwood is one of the most premium woods in the world.
Benefits of Teakwood:
- Naturally resistant to moisture, termites, and decay
- Extremely long lifespan
- Rich natural oils that protect the wood
- Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use
- Develops a beautiful patina over time
Teakwood is ideal for customers seeking luxury, durability, and legacy furniture.
Will all solid wood products look exactly the same?
No. Since solid wood is a natural material:
- Grain patterns
- Texture
- Knots and tonal variations
will vary from piece to piece. This is a sign of authenticity, not a defect. No two solid wood products are ever identical.
Who should choose solid wood furniture?
Solid wood furniture is ideal for customers who:
- Value craftsmanship and authenticity
- Prefer long-term investment over short-term savings
- Appreciate natural materials
- Want furniture that can be repaired, refinished, and passed on
